Deb Stevens, Planning and Administration Manager

My primary responsibility at The Morning Call is financial analysis for the Editorial Department, which means managing budgets and developing financial tools for all the managers. Being a "numbers person" in a department of journalists who deal primarily with words is very analogous to my role on the Editorial Board. My numbers orientation provides a different perspective for the Board on most issues. Outside of that approach, I am concerned about issues relating to the local political, educational, health, and environmental arenas.

I am of Scandinavian and German heritage and was reared and educated in the Upper Midwest -- Minnesota and Wisconsin. I relocated to the Lehigh Valley more than 20 years ago with my husband. We have made the Valley our home, and we are raising our family here.

As a mother of middle-school twins, I enjoy volunteering in their activities and in our community. I am involved with their activities at Lower Macungie Middle School and Boy Scout Troop 431. I also am committed to the music, youth and quilting ministries at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Emmaus. If and when I find extra time, I enjoy walking, knitting, gardening and talking with family and friends.
