Glenn Kranzley, Opinion Pages Editor and Vice President
I'm proud of my roots -- 100 percent Pennsylvania Dutch, a product of the Allentown schools and a lifelong Lehigh Valley resident -- minus the years I spent getting a degree in journalism at Penn State. I've worked in daily newspapers in the Valley for 36 years as a reporter, news editor and, since 1989, as an opinion writer and editor.
It's standard in newsrooms for journalists to avoid affiliations, and I've pretty much done that.
In the past, I've coached Little League in Hellertown when my two daughters, who are grown up, played softball, and I've helped with fund-raising walk-athons for Turning Point of Lehigh Valley. I'm a Democrat and a super voter. And, ever since my wife Susan and I were married in 1973, I've been an active member of St. John's UCC in Coopersburg.
Away from the office, being a grandfather to two little girls is the great joy of my life.
