The Pennsylvania General Assembly has done it again. It has failed to address the simple functions of government in the $28.3 billion budget and has instead borrowed another $2.9 billion and put a lot of that money into all manner of feel-good projects that have little to do with the responsibilities of state government.

Traffic flows better with 'roundabouts'

My mother taught me to drive when I was 10 years old; I drove regularly from age 12 on, and since then have driven over a million miles all over America and Europe. As you can imagine, I have some opinions about drivers, driving, and the roads. This article is mainly about ''roundabouts,'' (traffic circles), but first let me say a couple of words about other traffic issues in the news.

There are good reasons for U.S. to stay in Iraq

Will we be in Iraq for 100 years? I hope so. Iraq is the keystone of the Middle East. If Iraq remains free, it will deter the growth of totalitarianism in the region, and encourage democracy. Iraq is bordered by Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, and Turkey. Except for Iran and Syria, all those countries are our allies in the war against militant Islamism.
