EAST STROUDSBURG NORTH

Coach: Chuck Dailey

Last year: 2-8

Impact players: RB/DB Isaac Reid, RB Ori Igein, OL/DL Kyle Grampp, OL/DL Jon Carr, QB Brendan Woods.

Biggest question: Will East Stroudsburg North finally play enough defense to compete with South?

Outlook: After a rough season involving a rash of injuries and lack of leadership, Dailey sees the potential for a strong season. The potent halfback duo of Reid and Igein could prove explosive enough for the Timberwolves to turn some heads.

EAST STROUDSBURG SOUTH

Coach: Ed Christian

Record: 8-4, lost to Liberty in District 11 Class 4A playoffs

Impact players: FB/LB Sam Bergen, LB/TE Greg Kessle, CB/RB Keyshoen Jarrett, RB Joey Fuchs, T/DE Scott Brimmer.

Big question: With 10 starters to replace on offense, how can East Stroudsburg South expect to stay near the top of the MVC?

Outlook: It's tough to get a read. Christian always puts a competitive team on the field, but the offense is so depleted that it may take a while to get things going. Bergen, just a junior, may be the league's best player, though.

LEHIGHTON

Coach: George Ebbert

Record: 5-6, lost to Northwestern in District 11 Class 3A semis

Impact players: WR Keith Newton, FB/LB Tim Sulzer, C/DT Nico Caruso, G/DT Simon Tkach, G/DT Cody Moyer, TE/LB Brian Horn, WR/S Adam Matiko.

Big question: After 23 years as an assistant, how will Ebbert handle his first year as the boss?

Outlook: The Indians have a talented line, but skill positions could prove to be a major issue. Junior Kyle Hunter and sophomore J.T. Keer will battle for the quarterback job, but a bigger issue may be the season-ending ACL injury to running back Danny Farole.
