The Pennsylvania State University, located in State College, Pa., was founded as the Farmers' High School of Pennsylvania in 1855. Notable alumni include Hugh Rodham, father of Hillary Rodham Clinton; Mark Parker, CEO of Nike; Herman Fisher, co-founder of Fisher-Price; and Slinky inventor Richard T. James.
